Pub Manager
Location: The Robin Hood, St Michael’s Hill, Bristol
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 base depending on experience (£33,000 – £37,000 OTE including performance bonuses)
Hours: 40 hours per week. Full-time, including evenings and weekends
About Us
The Robin Hood is an independent pub with a strong focus on craft beer, local products, and community engagement. Our events include a weekly pub quiz, an upstairs comedy club, and live music. We are a community-first pub, dedicated to creating a friendly and welcoming environment for everyone. Our kitchen is home to Hanoi Social Banh Mi, offering delicious Vietnamese street food. Situated across the road from a hospital and university, we cater to a diverse crowd looking for quality drinks, great food, and a relaxed atmosphere.
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Pub Manager to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of the pub. This role is ideal for someone who loves hospitality, has a passion for great service, and enjoys creating a lively and enjoyable environment for customers and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate the team to deliver excellent customer service
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships
- Ensure the pub is running efficiently, from front-of-house operations to back-office admin
- Plan and execute events, promotions, and marketing activities to drive footfall
- Maintain compliance with licensing laws, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations
- Recruit, train, and develop staff, fostering a positive work culture
- Monitor financial performance, control costs, and drive profitability
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a pub or hospitality management role
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- A hands-on approach with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of stock control, financials, and business growth strategies
- Passion for the industry and a keen eye for customer service
- Knowledge of craft beer, wines, and spirits
